Thanksgiving is over...and here comes Christmas

Thanksgiving is over. The leftovers were finished last Monday, but they live on in this picture where you can see me eating my favorite part of a turkey. I used the turkey carcass to make a delicious turkey rice soup with sage and thyme etc. and there is still one or two servings of that left. However I got lucky yesterday and found the REAL last bit of leftovers yesterday in the back of the refrigerator. It was some of my giblet stuffing (just like Dad used to make!) and I didn't even realize there was any left over because it was gone in a flash. And it was so so good!

Ah turkey memories... But moving along. Today we woke up and had a perfectly productive day of going and picking up our first Christmas tree! Theo carried it home on his shoulder in freezing rain for over a mile and his fingers went numb. But he was okay after he warmed up and we ate some lunch. See:
Later we put up the tree:And I made a cranberry custard pie:
We have been listening to Charlie Brown Christmas CD all day and a few other Christmas themed songs to get us in the mood for the season. Hope you are getting a good start yourselves!
